"At times the world can seem an unfriendly and sinister place. But believe us when we say there is much more good in it than bad. All you have to do is look hard enough. And what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events, may in fact, be the first steps of a journey. "

Quickly, Quickly

Okay, so I am technically not supposed to be on the computer, for any reason. Sunday is my day to read, read, read and catch up. Life is so busy and I feel like I am constantly in motion. Don't get me wrong, I love it but I can't forget to sit down, take a breather and also focus on schoolwork. My first week back at school and I am more in love with this place than ever. It's been so cold and walking around campus can be miserable. But wrap a scarf around your jacket and pull on some boots over your jeans...voila! walking around campus isn't that bad. I like my classes, my statistics class for psychology is going to push me and although I am nervous, I'm excited. I want to be challenged. We have a 2 hour research lab that goes with the course and I am so stoked for it. We actually get to do real research with real people and statistics. I also have accounting with my boyfriend whom I adore. It's funny because we met in an Anthropology class last year and now we have a class together again. I hate math, but so far my professor has made accounting fun. We're playing lemonade tycoon! haha, it's awesome.

I have hardly seen my apartment for very long, I'm always in West Campus at Kevin's place. It's just so much easier to be right there on campus and I love his company. We are painting canvases. It's going to be abstract art and so far I've painted my canvas black with texture. Kevin's looks cooler than mine, I'm jealous. But after we're done were going to throw paint onto our canvases in all kinds of ways so it will be really abstract. I've decided to use neon colors so it will really pop against the black.

Have I mentioned how much I love lists? Well yes, I do. I have a billion of them at this moment because of all the things I needed to get done or buy.

One of my favorite things about Austin? South Congress. Take a stroll down this avenue on a pretty day and you will fall in love with this quirky city. Kevin and I ate lunch with his dad and step mom at a burger place called Doc's on Saturday. It was sunny and beautiful. It was designed to be an indoor/outdoor place but had such a relaxed, vacation like feel to it. Their burgers were delicious and I loved seeing all the people just hanging out watching the game. I loved his parents. They were so sweet and entertaining. We were there for 2 hours just talking! There are so many shops and little food stands I cannot wait to try on South Congress. One of these days, when it is wonderful weather and I have all the time in the world on my hands, I'm going to  bring my appetite and money to just wander around South Congress.

I'm very excited for this semester but I can already tell it's going to be busy, busy, busy. I've got a lot on my plate. As long as I schedule my time well between school, work, social things and my boyfriend I'll be just fine. I am only sad that my dear friend Carly will not be here with me this semester. She is taking medical leave from a semester at UT. The doctors cannot find out what is wrong with her and she is ordered to stay in bed. I pray that she will be okay and that the doctors find out what's wrong soon. It just won't be the same without her, we always have such a good time together.

But anyway, I've gotta go read for Stats and Accounting.
Love
