Hi blogworld :)
It's been a long time! I've just been so busy living that I haven't had a lot of time to just sit down and type it all out. But just random thoughts;
1. I feel like Texas is having a much more defined period of the season Fall. I don't remember being graced with this many weeks of just gorgeous weather last year. It makes me in a constant good mood. I wear whatever the heck I want. Keep it up!
2. Since I now work at the University of Texas Annual Giving Call Center, I have spoken with so many different alumni. Old, middle aged, and brand spanking new-just-graduated. And this is what I have learned. The alumni who have graduated in the 40's and 50's and 60's are QUITE old now and a lot of them cannot hear me or do not have the patience to listen to me. But every once and a while you get a sweet, elderly person who must have lived a good life because even though they are 80 something and have a lot of medical problems, they can sit down and talk to a complete stranger asking for donations. I love when I get phone calls where I have a good ol 15 minute conversation with a man who tells me about his escapades back in the day at UT. Or when I speak to a woman who went into the nursing field because all of her girlfriends were doing it (this was during the war). It's so cool.
The graduates from the 70's-90's are most likely starting families or have them. It's funny to hear their kids in the background or when they have their answering machines at their precious child saying "You have reached XXX-XXX-XXXX, we are not available right now. Leave a message pwease!" haha, its funny. They are more likely to give because most of the are more stable with their careers.
And the brand spankin new graduates, 2000-2010...well they are either continuing their education with a masters/PhD or they are working and paying off loans. So, they aren't as likely to give. But they are quite nice and like to talk about their times here at UT as well as what they've done with their degree since they've graduated. I've gotten a lot of great advice from people about what to do with a Bachelors in Psychology and so forth.
So, yeah. I've really enjoyed it. :)
3. I love One Tree Hill. It NEVER ceases to amaze me with just how good of a show it is. I've been watching season 3 over again, my favorite season <3
4. I learned how to Country dance! And I love it. Midnight Rodeo = awesome!
5. I've been running 2 miles everyday for 2 weeks now. And I feel great! It helps keep me active and not lazy so i get more work done and i just feel better! And, I've been trying to get a flat stomach going for Halloween, haha
6. I love feeling independent. I've recently learned, I'm stronger than I believed and less dependent than I thought. I like having my own company and thoughts a lot more and I'm proud of that. I like not having to depend on someone all the time.
7. Countdown for Halloween: 16 days! Countdown for Harry Potter: 35 days! Thanksgiving break: 41 days!
That's all for now beautiful people!
Kimberly
