HELLO AUSTIN :)
I've been back in the good ol' bustlin city of Austin for almost 3 days now and they've been such a good few couple of days. If the year turns out like these past few days, I will be a happy girl!
I LOVE my new apartment. It's a 3x3 which means bigger bedrooms! its also on the second floor so we get an awesome patio that actually has a decent view. I don't care for the carpet too much but its nice. Moving in was a little bit stressful as always but I managed to get all my stuff here in ONE trip. Compared to my roommates, I am a minimalist. Yet, my room still has a lot of stuff in it. I can't wait to finish decorating the place. There's so much more wall space than last year it feels like.
Another favorite thing about my apartment is the sunlight that comes in from this angle of the building. There's always so much sunlight and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that. Last year, the way we were facing made our apartment dark a lot of the time, even when the sun was out. Now, my room and the living room is always lit up with happy sunshine.
My new roommate, her name is Jen. She's really fun and sweet! She's older and not going to school at UT...long story short, my original roommate Aubrie decided not to come back for the fall semester so she subleased her room to Jen. But she's trying to start her own fashion line business thing. She moved here to Austin, Tx just 3 months ago from Indiana with nothing but a suitcase and the clothes on her back. Her parents encouraged her to follow her dreams and thought that a funky, highly entrepreneurial town like Austin would be the best place to try and start a clothing line. How cool is that? She graduated from Indiana University in retail. I was so awed by her story. She just bought a one way plane ticket to Texas because she knew that there was no way she could go back because there's nothing left for her back in Indiana. And she's here for a fresh start and a career. She's really liked it here so far though and I like that she's older because she likes to tell Annie and I advice which makes me feel like we have someone looking out for us. She's also looking into buying a car within a few weeks, SOOOO yay!! haha
I also attended my sister's White Coat Ceremony. It's such a prestigious event because it marks the transition of her undergrad studies into her graduate studies so that in 4 years she will be called Doctor of Pharmacy. I was so proud of her. It's such a tough school to get into and UT has been ranked in the top 5 for more than 10 years!
I'm so pumped for classes tomorrow. I don't know why. I know I will HATE walking around in the heat but I saw its supposed to rain so maybe it will cool down a bit. Walking in the rain won't be too much better since I was going to try and look at least decent for my first day of class haha but oh well.
Tomorrow I have my Jazz Appreciation class at 12 and then my Personality Psychology class after that at 1.
I miss my brothers and my daddy terribly. I called them first thing yesterday after they got out of school. John said his first say was "Good, I guess." but my dad told me he was so excited to go get his school supplies with Peter and his friends. Aw :) I love them so much. John is now in high school and Peter is starting his SENIOR YEAR. I swear, it feels like I was just in my senior year not that long ago. I'm just now developing all of these pictures from senior year that I put off for WAY too long.
