Stand In the Rain

Aloha! How awesome Hawaii sounds right now, mmmmm.

My younger brother is about to get his drivers license and we were trying to figure out what he needed when we went up to the DMV. And the sad part is, I couldn't remember! I got mine like 2 years ago and I couldn't remember a single thing I brought up there with me that day. My memory is failing me. Usually, it's pretty good. Or maybe its my selective memory that's pretty good and I could have cared less what I needed that day, I just wanted to freaking drive myself!!!

So, its about this time in the summer when I fall into a routine and it's so hard to break! I get so comfortable hanging out with certain people and that's just all I do haha. Trying to fit anyone else in requires a lot of effort! I know that sounds terrible, but that's just how lazy I am!! But, I'm trying to be better. This week, I've got so many things going on, I'm scared of double booking and then having to cancel on someone. I hate it when I do that.

I'm about 1/4 of the way through with the book On The Road. It's a good read. It makes me feel though, that I would never, ever be as brave, street smart, savvy, or curious as the guy in the book. But then again, he is a man and men are treated differently than women. If people saw a girl walking on the road trying to catch a ride, well, she probably wouldn't make it across the country like he does. So I'm glad things are a little bit more technological so that we wouldn't have to hitch rides. But also, I think that we then lose some of the mystery and adventure of it all. I would love to walk on an open road with the notion to create a new life for myself in a different atmosphere.
